Family photos
that feel like
your family.
you don’t need perfect behaved children, in fact I love to keep it a little wild. You just need to show up. I’ll take care of the rest.
Whether we’re chasing golden light outdoors or creating timeless portraits in my Raleigh natural light studio, my goal is always the same: to discover and document the connection that already exists among and in the midst of your family.
Sessions That Feel Easy.
If family photos usually sound more stressful than exciting, you’re not alone.
Most parents worry about toddlers refusing to smile, husbands who don’t love photos, or wondering what everyone should wear.
My sessions are designed to feel relaxed and playful. We move, we laugh, I curate those perfect snuggles & somewhere in the middle of all that, your real family shines through.
As your Raleigh family photographer, I’ll gently guide you every step of the way while leaving plenty of room for genuine moments to unfold naturally.

FAQ
Booking family photos is exciting, but it's also completely normal to have a few questions along the way. From choosing between an outdoor or studio session to wondering what your kids will wear (or whether they'll cooperate!), I'm here to make the entire experience feel simple and stress-free. Below you'll find answers to some of the questions I hear most often as a Raleigh family photographer.
Have questions? You're in the right place.

One of my favorite parts of planning your session is helping you choose the perfect location. As a Raleigh family photographer, I photograph families throughout Raleigh, Cary, Durham, Chapel Hill, and the surrounding Triangle. Whether you envision a golden field at sunset, a charming historic park, or a timeless session in my light-filled studio, we'll choose a location that fits your family's personality and the season beautifully.

This is probably the question I hear most & I promise, your kids don't have to sit perfectly still or smile on command to create beautiful photographs. My sessions are relaxed and child-led, filled with games, movement, snuggles, and conversation rather than constant posing. Some of the sweetest images come from the in-between moments, and I've learned over the years that happy, connected families make the very best photographs. If moments get tough, I’ll redirect or take a break. After over 1000 family sessions, I promise you, your family is not the first!

Don't worry! You do not have to figure this out alone. After booking, you'll receive a detailed style guide with tips for choosing outfits that photograph beautifully, and you'll also have access to my client closet for moms. I always recommend soft, coordinating colors, comfortable clothing, and timeless pieces that allow the focus to stay on your family rather than your outfits.

Yes! I offer both outdoor and studio family photography, and each provides a unique experience. Outdoor sessions are perfect for families who love open spaces, beautiful natural light, and playful moments together. My Raleigh studio offers a calm, timeless setting with soft light and a weather-proof environment, while holding onto my classic emotion-filled & fun connection forward style. If you're not sure which is the best fit, I'm always happy to help you decide.

Both outdoor and studio family photography create beautiful portraits, it simply depends on the experience you're looking for. Outdoor sessions offer gorgeous seasonal scenery and plenty of room for little ones to explore. My Raleigh studio provides a stress-free, comfortable environment with timeless, light-filled portraits that never go out of style. Studio sessions are especially wonderful for moms who prefer controlled environment/time: Hot summer sessions when North Carolina heat can be overwhelming, unpredictable weather, or families need to book around that nap schedule. If you're not sure which is right for your family, I'd love to help you choose the experience that best fits this season of life.

For outdoor family photography, I almost always recommend scheduling your session during the hours before sunset when the light is soft, warm, and incredibly flattering. If you're choosing a studio session, we have much more flexibility since the natural light inside the studio stays beautiful throughout the day.

I recommend booking your family session at least two to three months in advance. For more popular seasons: spring- typically released in February Fall- typically released in July. Of course, always reach out!

Your children won’t remember every detail of the day.
But they will have these photographs to remind them of how much they are loved.
