What Started as a Dream is coming into Reality | Raleigh, NC Studio Portraiture

Y’all…here it is. It’s coming!
Honestly, when I invited clients into my home as a “studio,” when I bought my very first Willow Canvas backdrop, when I hosted minis with seltzers, applesauce pouches, and crafts spread across our kitchen table… I had no clue I’d one day be staring a studio lease in the face.

But here we are.

And I say we on purpose, because every single session, every family who trusted me, every person who squeezed into my living room with a toddler (or multiples) on their hip… you brought me here. You really did.

This studio isn’t just my next step.
It feels like our next step.

Stepping Into Something Bigger…with Just a Little Fear…

There’s something wild about walking into an empty space, flipping on the lights, and realizing my business bought this. The business I built from nothing- from that first little camera I was so nervous to spend $300 on. The one that has brought me into the homes of over 100+ newborn families, that has made countless little ones giggle and full bully laugh, that has introduced me to families I now call friends. This. This business owns this little space in downtown Raleigh.

And if I’m honest, a little part of me wanted to wait until it was “perfect” before saying anything.
But that’s not our story. I mean you guys watch me build this business while being a newborn twin momma- of course it’s been messy! This story has always been built on real life, on showing up before everything is tidy, on pivoting during crazy sessions with toddlers, on borrowed corners of my home (or yours), & on turning everyday moments into magic.

So it only feels right to bring you into this moment now, while the paint brush is still in my hand, the curtains are on order and the vision is still taking shape.

My Vision: A Studio Built for Belonging

But here is what I know: this space is more than walls to me. It’s more than gear or pretty light (although don’t worry- you know me…there will be LOTS of pretty light).

It’s a place where:

families feel at home

kids can be themselves

stories can unfold without rushing

creativity has room to breathe

community can gather and cheer each other on

Every session I’ve photographed, whether outside in an open field, at home during your newborn haze or squeezed into my living room, has shaped what I want this studio to be:
a place of belonging.

I want it to feel like, “We built this together. And we’re just getting started.”

Come With Me Behind the Scenes

While Febuary 1st is the official start date, over the next few months- with holiday stuff sprinkled in-between, I’m sharing the whole journey:

  • the before photos

  • the paint decisions

  • the wins, the mistakes, the “what was I thinking?” moments

  • the small victories that make this feel real

I want you to feel like you’re right beside me, because in so many ways, you are.

Here’s to new beginnings, shared dreams, and a space created for you.
